So we scored one particular section of wall, put the remover on and tried to scrape. We followed all the instructions to the letter, and…we created a mess! I also had a large allergic reaction to the wallpaper remover and glue gunk and had rash all up and down my arms. I also felt decidedly un-green.
So that is when we broke out the Paper Tiger. This tool is excellent if you have wallpaper like mine that is super thick and tough to penetrate with water or the gel remover. It basically shreds the paper and enables moisture to seep in behind the paper so it can release from the wall. The downside of this strategy is that it also can shred your drywall, which creates much more of a mess for you to clean up and patch later. In an ideal planet, all wallpaper would come off in a single big strip, but that is obviously not the case, so this tool aids when you are working with actually stubborn paper.
I moved into a 1st floor flat in september, but am now experiencing black mould around most of the windows at the bottom corners and the surrounding walls. There is no window in the kitchen, but i usually use the extractor fan. My baby’s room is impacted the most, with white fur like mould growing on backs of furniture and something that touches the external wall. We get pretty a lot of condensation on the windows, so is that the lead to? Please assistance!
Next is preparing your solution. The industrial products work nicely, but I’ve had very good final results with warm water and vinegar. If you are going to use the commercial products, be positive to adhere to their guidelines as to mixture ratios. For the vinegar answer, 1 element vinegar to four components water is sufficient for most glues. Add more vinegar if you are obtaining issues.
Let your base coat dry completely and measure off your stripes with a level and marking pencil. Place smaller pieces of blue painter’s tape inside the stripes that are not to be painted – just as a reminder. To ensure the painted stripes are full width, location the tape along the outside of these lines. I know this sounds apparent, but think me, points can get a tiny confusing after all the measuring and taping!
